Dr. Andres F. Carrion

 

Dr. Andres Carrion is a board-certified Gastroenterologist and Transplant Hepatologist specializing in diagnosis and treatment of all adult liver diseases, as well as disorders of the gastrointestinal tract including interventional endoscopic procedures. Dr. Carrion received his medical degree from the University of Cuenca in Ecuador in 2006 and subsequently completed postgraduate training at the University of Miami – Jackson Memorial Hospital: Internal Medicine residency, Chief Medical resident, Gastroenterology fellowship, Transplant Hepatology fellowship.

Dr. Carrion has been practicing medicine for over 15 years (including academic and administrative positions at Texas Tech University, the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital) and has published extensively in top medical journals, world-renowned textbooks, and has taught at national and international courses. He has also trained over 50 gastroenterologists and hepatologists under his direct supervision.

Dr. Carrion specializes in the diagnosis and management of diseases of the liver (cirrhosis, hepatitis, fatty liver, autoimmune liver diseases, abnormal liver tests, tumors, etc.), bile ducts (stones, tumors, etc.), and minimally invasive endoscopic resection of benign and malignant tumors from the esophagus, stomach, small bowel and colon.
